The Tucson Lobos Fund-raising Game with the Arizona State School For The Deaf And The Blind
To Ray, John, and the Lobos team,Thanks for coming out to ASDB last Saturday for the wheelchair basketball game. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did! Although our campus was a ghost town (due to campus-wide flu sickness and the cancellation of the blind community's marathon event for that morning) it didn't lessen the enthusiasm of everyone who participated. Our school enjoyed the games, learning about wheelchair basketball and having the chance to watch the brutal competition. We would like to do it again in the future for sure! The buzz of the weekend was still lingering Monday morning in our classes. It was so exciting to hear the students talking about the games. You guys really know how to entertain the crowd and put on a half time show for our students. They really enjoyed the racing fun.I hope you will consider another game with ASDB in the future, when the entire physical education staff is able to attend in full force. I also think that this could build into an incredible disability awareness program for all of our students and am working with our director of athletics to set up a time and date to invite, the Lobos to come and do a wheelchair basketball exhibition for our students. A possible time is to have it during our pep assembly in the afternoon where we can have all our students and staff on hand (then we wouldn't have to borrow Grant to make us look good -except when he forgets to do the give n' go move, smirk). If there is anything I can do to assist the Lobos in the near future, I can be reached at [email protected]
